Brandon Township – Meeting  Minutes –   Jan.  16, 2007The regular monthly meeting of the Brandon Township Board was held Tuesday, January 17, 2007 in the Brandon Community Center with Paul Lauthen, Diane Smith, Gaylin Croonquist,  Don Buse, and Adrian Ledermann present.The meeting was called to order by Paul Lauthen..   Clerks Report: The Minutes of the  Dec. 18, 2006 meeting were addressed  The minutes stood approved as read with motion by Croonquist, seconded by Buse and carried.Treasurers Report: Beginning Balance 12/01/06 $17483.18.   Interest from Revenue on account at Bremer was Bank was $7.40 .  Other income was $33,615.19.  Orders issued totaling $ 27,419.92  for a total ending balance of $ 23,685.85 .   Investments reported included Tar & Road fund received     $238.14 in interest to total $ 63,472.20 ; 12 month CD renewed for one year with $ 0 interest added to total $ 51,750  and 18 month CD received $ 0  in interest to total $ 154,489.84  Motion made by Buse, seconded by Croonquist to approve report.   Carried. Public Comment.  George Bedore was present to again speak for the petition to remove Sara Rd area from phase 2 Central Sewer District planning.   Board took up his request as advisement, decided further information was needed, and will plan on having a representative at next Central District meetingOld Business   noneNew Business:A.  Lauthen shared several summons (Schjei and Novotny) he had received about property boundaries needing new descriptions.   No further action needed.B.  New Road being planned leading off of Wolf Creek road north of Stowe Lake.  Vista Trail NW was approved as the name for the new road.  Moved by Buse, Seconded by Croonquist, carried.C.  Lobby Day will be on Feb. 13.  Contact Wayne Becker from Moe.D.  Township annual meeting will be on Feb. 21  to begin with noxious weed meeting.E.  Calcium Chloride request to County to be 10,000 gallons.  Adrian will send in requestF.  Lake Association membership for Brandon Township was approved with motion from Croonquist, seconded by Buse, and carried.  Buse to be representative.  Cost will be 10cents percapita, around $65.00G.  Township election head judge appointed:  Adrian Ledermann, moved by Buse, Sec. by Croonquist, carried.H.  Affidavit of candidacy for supervisor was filed by Paul Lauthen, and for treasurer by Diane Smith. Claims: Claims were presented and viewed by the board.  Douglas County Assn of Townships - $506.56 for  2007 dues; Lakes Area Humane Society - $122.01 to impound dog; Luckys Propane - $272.00 for shop fuel; Otter Tail Power - $125.52 for shop electricity; The Record - $7.56 for public notices; City of Brandon - $124.65 for water/sewer; PERA - $136.66 for 4th Qt.; IRS - $323.83 for 4th Qt. 2006.  Claims total was $1,618.79.    Claims and wages were ordered paid on motion by Croonquist, seconded by  Buse, and carried.
